Financial Aid

Students receiving federal financial aid are required to attend classes. For distance education classes, ‘attendance’ is defined as submitting an assignment or taking a test. Use this date when reporting ‘last date of attendance’ if you plan to drop your class. When you enroll in a distance education class and receive financial aid, please understand that you will owe money back if you choose to not participate in your class.

Counseling

Students enrolled in a distance education class have access to all college services. You can receive academic advising online, and get help with a situation you are having difficulty with. You can also initiate personal counseling; begin to find career/major information; or just ask general questions about RCC or our processes. E-mail our distance learning counselor at dlcounselor@roguecc.edu.

Library Services

RCC provides a variety of library services designed specifically for distance learning students. For a complete orientation to those services visit http://learn.roguecc.edu/library or
e-mail our distance librarian at: tmiller@roguecc.edu.

Successful distance learning students actively participate in class on a regular basis. This is particularly important during the first two weeks of class. All classes require the completion of an orientation, either online or in person. Others require specific introductory activities, such as posting to a discussion board, or completing an assignment.

PLEASE NOTE that you may be subject to administrative drop at the end of the second week of class for non-participation. It is your responsibility to abide by individual class policies and procedures as outlined in your course syllabus and/or orientation. If you have questions about your enrollment status please contact your instructor or Rogue Central.
