| Description: |
Covers the theory and application of semiconductor solid-state electrical devices. Topics include atomic theory basis of semiconductor electrical behavior and PN junction theory and applications, including diode and bipolar junction transistors. Emphasizes utilization of graphical, analytical, and modeling techniques for DC and AC analysis of solid-state diode and bi-polar junction amplifier small signal circuit applications. Heavy emphasis is placed on integration of circuit theory to problem solving and troubleshooting skills. The theoretical and practical application of a variety of solid state devices and circuit applications are covered. In addition to hands-on experience with industry standard test equipment, software simulation is used to enhance the presentation of theory and circuit applications, and development of troubleshooting skills. |

Notes:
|
While much of the content for this course is available online, students will need about four hours of hands-on lab time per week to be successful. Students must attend a face-to-face orientation during the first week of the term. Instructor-led labs are available throughout the term at either Table Rock or Redwood campus.
The online classroom isn't available at this time as we transition to a new Learning Management System. We're sorry for the inconvenience. |

Successful distance learning students actively participate in class on a regular basis. This is particularly important during the first week of class. All classes require the completion of an orientation, either online or in person. Others require specific introductory activities, such as posting to a discussion board, or completing an assignment.
PLEASE NOTE that all RCC courses are subject to administrative drop. You must log into your Rogue Online course website prior to 11:59 p.m. of the first Sunday of the term or you may be administratively dropped by the instructor and receive a full refund. After logging into your Rogue Online course follow your instructor's guidelines for establishing attendance in the course. It is your responsibility to abide by individual class policies and procedures as outlined in your course syllabus and/or orientation. If you have questions about your enrollment status please contact your instructor or Rogue Central.
