| Description: |
“Exploring Society” is an introductory, college-level sociology course that uses the unique qualities of video to help students understand how sociology can provide them with a new way of looking at the world. Stories and situations are used to dramatize the human conflicts at the core of all sociological issues. Students explore unique sociological ideas through the use of short, intense visual vignettes. These vignettes, referred to as “visual sociology” or “then and now,” act as transitions between segments for many of the lessons. |

Successful distance learning students actively participate in class on a regular basis. This is particularly important during the first week of class. All classes require the completion of an orientation, either online or in person. Others require specific introductory activities, such as posting to a discussion board, or completing an assignment.
PLEASE NOTE that all RCC courses are subject to administrative drop. You must log into your Rogue Online course website prior to 11:59 p.m. of the first Sunday of the term or you may be administratively dropped by the instructor and receive a full refund. After logging into your Rogue Online course follow your instructor's guidelines for establishing attendance in the course. It is your responsibility to abide by individual class policies and procedures as outlined in your course syllabus and/or orientation. If you have questions about your enrollment status please contact your instructor or Rogue Central.
